Trauma is a pervasive and universal experience that impacts us all in different ways, and a trauma-informed approach to coaching is a powerful way to support our clients that works with their bodies and nervous systems and honours who they are as individuals.
In this free training, you’ll learn how to move from being a capable coach…
to becoming a truly transformative one.
You'll discover how to use your own nervous system as a powerful instrument for building trust, co-regulation, and deep impact—so your business doesn’t just do good, it feels good.
To you. And to everyone it touches.
This isn’t about rigid rules or performative protocols.
It’s about expanding your embodiment and presence so your clients feel safe enough to go deep—and you feel resourced enough to guide them there.
Because being trauma-informed isn’t a checklist.
It’s a living, relational art.
It’s about becoming a steadying force. A nervous system your clients can borrow in their own moments of dysregulation.

What a trauma-informed approach IS vs what it ISN’T
 What a trauma-informed approach
IS:
-
A way of understanding and responding to the effects of trauma on individuals
-
A framework that emphasises safety, empowerment, and trustworthiness in the therapeutic relationship.
-
A holistic approach that takes into account the whole person, their experiences, and their environment.
-
A practice that encourages collaboration and partnership between clients and service providers.
-
A process that involves ongoing learning, self-reflection, and growth.
-
A way of promoting resilience, healing, and growthÂ
What a trauma-informed approach
ISN'T:
-
A one-size-fits-all approach
-
A focus on diagnosis and pathology
-
A simple technique or set of interventions that work for everyone
-
A substitute for judgment, training, and expertise
-
A way of labeling individuals as "trauma victims" or defining them solely by their traumatic experiences
-
A guarantee of positive outcomes or complete healing.
-
A one-time training or workshop that can be mastered in a short period of time.

Here are 6 ways that taking a trauma-informed approach supports us:
- It helps us see beyond behavior. When we encounter someone who is behaving in a way that is challenging or difficult to understand, it can be easy to jump to conclusions or make assumptions. However, when we approach that person from a trauma-informed perspective, we begin to recognize that behavior as a potential sign of past trauma or ongoing stress. This allows us to move beyond judgment and toward empathy and understanding.Â
 - It helps us cultivate compassion. When we learn about trauma and its impact on the brain and body, we begin to recognize that our own reactions and responses are not necessarily a reflection of our character or worth. We may come to understand that we are simply responding to the stressors in our environment, just like anyone else. This can help us be more compassionate toward ourselves and others.
- It helps us build resilience. When we understand the impact of trauma and how it affects the brain and body, we can begin to develop strategies for managing stress and building resilience. We can learn to recognize our triggers, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and cultivate a sense of safety and security in our lives. These skills can help us navigate the challenges and uncertainties of life/business with greater ease and confidence.
- It helps us understand others: We live in a world full of diverse people, each with their own set of experiences and struggles. Becoming trauma informed can help you better understand and relate to those around you, whether it's coworkers, friends, or loved ones. It can help you become a more compassionate and empathetic person.
- It helps us create safer spaces: Whether you're a coach, healer or mentor, becoming trauma informed can help you create safer spaces for others. By understanding the art and science of attunement and relationality, by learning how to radiate greater safety and recognising the signs of trauma and understanding how to respond, you can hold transformational space and make a real difference in someone's life.
- It helps us understand ourselves: Life can be tough, and we all have our own struggles to deal with. Becoming trauma informed can help you better understand why you react the way you do to certain situations, to hold yourself more accountable and to understand and relate to your own nervous system responses in deeper, more connected ways. It can give you insight into your own behavior and help you transform from old patterns.
